Our New Years Resolution: Try a New Style of Art in 2026!

Okay hear me out. New year, same walls… but way better art. Every January I think about big resolutions and then immediately get tired just thinking about them. Drink more water. Wake up earlier. Clean the house more. Instead, for 2026, I’m choosing something that actually feels fun. Trying a new style of art.

Art is the easiest way to switch things up without turning your house upside down. You don’t need paint, power tools, or a weekend blocked off. One new piece can totally change how a room feels. Low effort. High reward. We love that.

If You Always Play It Safe, Try Something Bold

If your space feels a little predictable or stuck in neutral, bold art can wake it right up. Bright color abstract art brings energy, personality, and that wow moment without needing a full makeover. One confident piece can do all the heavy lifting. Bold doesn’t have to mean overwhelming. It can also mean fun and fearless.

  • Bright color abstract art with playful shapes and happy colors
  • Abstract geometric art that feels graphic but still easygoing
  • Colorful art that feels fun, fresh, and full of energy
  • Pop art with bright colors and big personality

If You Love Modern, Go a Little Vintage

If your space is clean and modern, adding a touch of vintage wall art is such a good move. Vintage landscape art, retro poster art, or botanical art prints add warmth and character without feeling old or stuffy. It makes your space feel collected, like you didn’t buy everything at once. Basically, it’s the art version of mixing sneakers with a dress.

  • Vintage landscape art with soft earthy tones
  • Retro poster art with simple graphics and nostalgic charm
  • Vintage floral art that feels classic but still fresh

If Your Space Feels Busy, Try Calm Art

This one is very me. I love color, pattern, and cheerful spaces, but sometimes my eyes need a break. Everything in my home feels visually loud, so this year i'm going to try to use calm art to balance out the cheer. Softer landscape art, forest wall art, or pastel wall art can add a little breathing room. It’s not about toning things down. It’s about letting everything play nice together.

  • Muted landscape art that softens a colorful space
  • Forest wall art that feels grounding and cozy
  • Pastel wall art that blends in without fading away
  • Water inspired art with soft flow and quiet energy

If Your Art Feels Too Serious, Add Something Fun

Not every piece of art needs to be deep or dramatic. Some art can just be fun. Mushroom art, beach art, playful geometric wall art, or cheerful nature art adds personality and makes your space feel more you. These are usually the pieces people smile at first

  • Mushroom art with quirky shapes and cheerful colors
  • Beach art that feels sunny and carefree
  • Geometric wall art with playful patterns and bold contrast

Make It Easy on Yourself

Trying a new art style doesn’t mean starting over or replacing everything you already love. Don’t overthink it. Start with one piece. One wall. One small change that feels exciting. If it makes you happy, it works. So if you’re setting New Years intentions for 2026, skip the ones that feel like homework. Choose something fun. Choose something creative. Choose art that makes you smile every time you walk by. Lets keep the good art vibes rolling in 2026 my art friends!
